Hi,
I'm trying to upload a 3D view to BIM 360 Glue from Revit 2014 using the NWC format.
The view contains only linked files. It has no view templates assigned.
I have "Convert linked files" turned on in the navisworks settings and I have the Navisworks 2015 Exporters installed.
I keep getting "No suitable geometry found" error when using NWC but it works fine when using DWF:
It works fine using NWC if I try a view that has no links in it and just elements from my own model.
Any ideas?
Thanks
Hi,
Thank you for your post.
This is actually not a Glue issue but an issue with either the NWC exporter or from Revit in whichever case the product teams are aware of it and are actively investigating as a high priority case.
One thing you may check is to make sure that you have the latest NWC exporter which you can download from http://www.autodesk.com/products/navisworks/autodesk-navisworks-nwc-export-utility. Another thing to check is see if there are any View Templates assigned to the view you were trying to export. Remove the applied view template and see if you can export.
I will post an update in this forum as soon as I receive updates from our team.

Do you have the naviworks 2014 & navisworks 2015 export options?
I've found that if I try the 2015 export, and then go back to try the 2014 export, I have the same issue.
Hello Everyone,
Happy Friday!
Just for clarification, the settings of the NWC Export and the Glue plug-in are independent. As a quick update, the error you are experiencing is a Revit issue which is currently being addressed.
We understand that this is a critical issue for our Glue customers, the team are doing their best to fix and release an update the solves this issue. I will certainly post an update in this forum once I receive a time frame as to when this will be resolved.
Sincerely,
Frederick
Thanks, that's a temporary workaround...
As of Revit 2016 SP1 and the latest release of BIM 360 Glue, I'm still getting the "No suitable geometry found" error when glueing a view from Revit that contains only linked files.
Any updates on this Autodesk?
Thanks,
Vincent
Hi Vincent,
This issue was fixed with the release of the NWC Exporter 2016 which can be downloaded from: http://www.autodesk.com/products/navisworks/autodesk-navisworks-nwc-export-utility. Once installed, you will need to uninstall the older versions of the NWC exporter. The Glue plug-in will work once the NWC Exporter 2016 is installed.
The NWC Exporter 2016 can be applied to the installation of the 2014 and 2015 products. As a warning, 2016 is not backward compatible so if you need to view or access the NWC file, you will need to open it from at least Navisworks Freedom 2016 which is free to download and install.
I do not know at this time when the NWC Exporters for 2014 and 2015 will be updated.
I hope you find this helpful.

Hi Frederick and thanks for the reply.
I completely removed all the Navisworks Exporters I had installed (including the 2016 version that came installed with Navisworks 2016).
I then re-installed the 2016 Navisworks Exporters from the link you provided.
But it's still giving me the "No geometry found error" in Revit 2016 SP1... Kind of frustrating at this point.
I'm hoping this can be resolved eventually. In the meantime I'm uploading in DWF format but this involves some loss of information.
Thanks,
Vincent
Hi again Vincent,
Does the Revit model you are trying to upload have Parts in it? Will it be possible to obtain a copy of the Revit file with the linked files if any for my review?
I can send you an invitation to a Box account if this is okay.
Please let me know.
Thank you!
Frederick

I'm having the same problem as everyone else...Trying to glue using NWC with only a linked file visible in the view. Even with the updated exporters you've linked previously, I get the same error as everyone else.
Has there been any update on a solution for this?
I have a Revit 2016 file with several different .ifc files linked into it, which I am trying to export to glue. I have set it up this way because I have Revit and IFC files which are coming from different consultants/subcontractors which will be continuously updated as we work, but I want a certain set of views which I can always export. Therefore, I was planning to create a Revit file as an 'exporter' with the views set up, and each Revit or IFC file linked in. This will allow me to update the links as the files are updated, but keep my exporter file with all the views.
I get the same 'No suitable geometry' error as mentioned here, and when I try the workaround discussed manually exporting with the NWC exporter, it leaves out random portions of the IFC files.
Please let me know if there are any updates for a solution for this.
Thank you!
