Python API library

Anonymous
Not applicable

Hi all,

Just a FYI but, for anyone interested, I'm working on a python wrapper for the BIM 360 API. Source and documentation can be found on github:

pythreesixty

Developing it in my spare time to assist with some ETL and Data Warehousing of the information for management reporting purposes, specifically for the moment on snags and issues. Hope it helps someone else.

Regards

James,

I have been doing most my work with ruby, node and postgresSQL.
I would be interested in having a conversation with you about using Python and MongoDB.
Very cool that you are trying to actually create a wrapper library.
I wish I had something like that when I started!

Cheers,
Marc

Hi Marc,

Actually built a quick proof-of-concept doing exactly that (BIM 360 --> Python --> MongoDB) in the examples code. I've then used this with a Pentaho Kettle (OpenSource) ETL process to perform some test manipulations and export into MS Excel.

Happy for other people to contribute to the library. I'm only using it read-only at the moment and I'll add to it as and when I need to and/or when I find the time.

Regards
