We can change the order of the colomns, but you can't lock them for the intire project as Project Admin. This would be really helpful to remind people to add the correct amount of metadata for a document, and make this uniform within the project. This idea is requested by more people in the link beneath.
Another small thing: if you have made an extra custum column you can't delete it, even it isn't used around the project.
