Tips for Posting to this Forum

Search first, post second! We recommend trying to find the answer to your question before posting a new one. There’s a good chance another user has had a similar challenge before and the answer is already out there. We’ve also kicked things off with a bunch of questions we anticipate being frequently asked along with our answers.

Help Each Other and Give Back to the Community

Using visual programming to create effects can be complex – even with Bifrost! Everyone starts out somewhere and ideally someone helped answer your questions and get you unstuck when you ran into a roadblock. This forum is where you can share your knowledge about visual programming and creating effects procedurally with the community.

There are few basic guidelines:

  • Read our documentation first! Have you checked to see if you can find the relevant information in our documentation? Don't post a question without first double-checking to see if the information is in the docs.
  • Ask concise questions. Be clear and direct with your questions. Keep the title short but descriptive of the problem you are having. Don’t just call your question: “Help!”
  • Provide all relevant and useful information about your situation. The more detail you provide, the greater chance of a useful answer. People need to have enough detail about your problem in order to understand what sort of answer will satisfy you.
  • Tag your questions so others with expertise can spot them.
  • Include your Bifrost Extension for Maya version.
  • Use “Reply” when directly replying to another person’s comment or question.
  • Always be kind and supportive. No trash talking, trolling, bullying or inappropriate comments.
  • When you get an answer that helps solve your issue, be sure to click “Accept Solution”. This tells others that the answer helped solve the problem and it tells moderators that the question was resolved.
