Maya Bifrost feedback port VS houdini sop solver: Develop a particle solver

Hi,
This is a tutorial to develop a solver using the feedback port.
The Bifrost feedback port is very powerful and flexible. If you want to develop a solver, then you will use it. It is similar to Houdini's sop solver, but more flexible. The feedback port can not only give feedback to the object, but also any data, such as string matrix data.

Please enjoy!

Thank you Bruce for very useful tutorial
Btw is it possible to stop updating elements of array into state port. I mean if particles reached wanted position then stop them moving at certain position?

Hi,
Of course, you only need to create a for_each in the solver, and then you can set any conditions to stop the solution. The feedback port is very flexible and powerful. 🙂

Or, don’t create for_each, the same can be.

Very cool project and beautiful results! I hope this will inspire others to go a level deeper and build their own systems in Bifrost.

One minor suggestion - anti-aliasing in your viewport :). It matters a lot for very small points.

Yes, after turning on anti-aliasing, the viewport will provide a more beautiful picture.
