Sorry for the delay in responding.
A way to remove the bumps along the sides is to CSG subtract the collider/container geometry that holds the liquid from the liquid mesh. To do this there are a couple of things you can try:
(1) Try to use Maya's mesh boolean (note: I'm not an expert in this workflow so I don't know how well it performs).
(2) If you cache out the mesh to alembic you can load the alembic into the bifrost graph. In the bifrost graph you can convert the mesh to a volume. Then use merge volumes to subtract the two volumes. Finally you can convert the volume back to a mesh.
(3) You might be able to get a smoother appearance near the walls of the container holding the liquid by increasing the mesh smoothing and/or increasing the particle count. But note that this may also change the look of your sim.
