You can use "Pause Graph Compilation" http://help.autodesk.com/view/BIFROST/ENU/?guid=Bifrost_Common_build_a_graph_pause_graph_html

Another way to mute something is to use an "if" node. You plug your graph's output connection in the "true_case" input, and just use the condition to control whether or not a graph branch should be running or not.

I would love to change the shortcut of this to something different, please add this functionality... those 3 keys are too much for something I find myself constantly doing....

Thanks

Not yet .... Hopefully, this will be added since it has been asked quite a few times.

As some clever brains pointed out that isnt so easy. Cause muting some nodes would just break the entire computation.
Its easy to mute nodes in a linear graph like in nuke. But in visual programing you would just create non functional code.

For some nodes it does make sense. And it would be a great feature to have.

2023. Maya 2024... Is by any chance this feature already implemented? In maya this is specially cumbersome.

As mentioned above its not so easy cause it would just break the graph. Its not a priority feature.

You could branch out the graph to a terminal if you need to know the effect of a certain node.

I understand that even removing a certain node in the chain might break everything ahead due to the autoports switching types by mistake. But how it can be muted in programs like Houdini or Blender just by muting a node? Isn't the equivalent to add a "if" node inside each node by default to work as a "pass" node?
