Ability to share links from a Shared folder

Hi,

Sharing links in Autodesk Drive is not possible when someone shares a folder with you.

Even though I have a subscription and I'm able to share links from my own folders.

Is this something that can be adapted?

Would be nice to have if you are working in team.

Your first and second sentences seem to contradict each other?

AFAIK Autodesk wants project teams to subscribe and work through their BIM360 service.

Hi,

I can understand that it sounds contradictory, I will try to explain with screenshots.

In Autodesk Drive you have 2 environments:

- My data
- Shared with Me

The first environment allows you to upload files & folders and create a link to send to a customer.

In the second environment, once shared with you, you can upload file to a folder. Here you don't get the button 'get link' so you have to wait untill the creator of the folder can make a link.

For example:

You want to work with different teammembers and customer or supplier.
You only want to share certain files with your customer but not the entire folder.
If you are not the creater of the folder you cannot do this.

@eline.nobels I think I get hat you are trying to say.

I believe that is by design, the "original creator" is in total control all the time with content they alone shared, not the recipients.

Yes, it seems to be this way.
Maybe this could be a adaption for the future. For example: everyone with rights (license) can share links if a folder was shared with you.
Thank you for your time.
