manage

I'm not sure if this is the correct place to post my comments, but I don't know where else I should otherwise? Perhaps a CAD Managers Ideas Forum should be created?

I think the following would be nice to have on the manage.autodesk.com site:

1. Allow for a spreadsheet style viewing of products and services, and being able to select which columns you want visible. Please see my attached for a rough idea*

2. To be able to create groups (e.g. depending on location, role, etc.)

3. Being able to rename users, having to delete them and re-add them is a bit tedious (also, this is a bit pedantic, but the manager seems to automatically adjust first letters to capitals. However names/surnames don't always start with a capital, e.g. Sekela'okulele changed to Sekela'Okulele, and van der Walt changed to Van Der Walt.)

Hi Connor,

Thank you for your feedback! This is the correct place to post your suggestions for manage.autodesk.com. We're interested to hear more about your first idea for the Products and Services section. We were unable to see your attachment, can you please reattach it here?

As for the user names - if an end user updates their own name, that name will update as they have specified in all systems including user management. We're interested to learn a bit more about why you need to specify the names, are you using these names for reporting purposes? Are you an admin in user management?

Thank you,
Emily Svensson

Hi Emily,

Sorry for the delayed response. It seems I forgot to attach the screencapture.

Currently each user has a dropdown as depicted below.
- blue arrows: indicating current "messy" info structure,
- black arrows: where it would be more ideal. (The dropdown seems unnecessary/tedious. - just add hide function for each individual detail)

- green arrows: narrower rows and having the info explanation only explained at the top , not for each user (wasted space)

Below, a very rough idea of what I was talking about (quickly drawn up in Excel) -I'm not a user interface design expert, so bare with me please.

It would be nice to sort by column, within groups, like Excel (I see it has a filter function at least). The spreadsheet will allow for easier and quicker reading and the desired information will be available immediately.

In my opinion it would be ideal to integrate the above structure into the existing interface, and remove the dropdown function, then just allow functionality to decide which columns you want to view and hide.

Most important (and easiest) I think would be to narrow down the row thicknesses in the manager. The current manager is extremely bulky, making it take longer to read through/sift information.

Hope the above makes sense,

Connor

Hello,

Thanks for your feedback! We've been in the process of reviewing your ideas and they have helped influence new features in our roadmap. We are in the process of upgrading all single-user subscriptions to the new view of user management, which is more efficient to navigate and will eventually include other features such as groups.

You can stay up to date with roadmap features on our Admin Community: admin.autodesk.com/roadmap

Thanks!

Emily
