Autodesk Access (Desktop App replacement)

Hello all,

I was hoping Autodesk Access would be the long awaited improvement/replacement for Autodesk Desktop App that it was touted to be; sadly, it is not:

it has just two tabs and both contain only a single message stating that Autodesk promises to put something on the tab... over time.  Really!?

Autodesk!?  Why on earth would you roll out a replacement that does NOTHING for the somewhat functioning Desktop App?  I am a bit more than disappointed.  If I did something like this to my clients, I would have no clients left!  ...but then you folks don't worry about that... you have a captive audience.

Can you at least TRY to do better next time?

I should have gotten a clue from the message I got before I installed it:

(... which, to be most accurate, could have said "This installer requires administrator privileges" (which is what I understood it to say... after a bit of pondering the wording of the message; and,  that's how I was finally able to install it.)

What use is there in allowing the Autodesk Access app (once installed) to run, NOT as administrator, when Autodesk KNOWS it will not show the user anything unless and until it is started with the "Run as Administrator" flag!?

Nevertheless, after specifying "Run as Administrator" when starting it, at least my Updates tab seem to be complete and does not list any updates for apps that I don't have installed.  That's an improvement.  Good job on that Autodesk!

The "Products and Services" tab is still empty; however, I always use my Autodesk Account page since I am the Software Administrator for our firm.  A link to the user's Autodesk Account is on the tab and that's useful.

Thanks for the feedback!  We will be improving this message shortly.  It is confusing.  This is what it will say:  "Right-click AdODIS-Installer.exe and select Run as Administrator to install Autodesk Access."

You don't need to be an administrator to run Access, only to install it.
