i am using Auto CAD 2020 for student ,  I am finding a symbol for Surface roughness.   It looks llike √.  where i can find it.

今Auto cad 2020学生版を使ってるんですけど、面の粗さを表す製図記号が見つかりません。どこにありますか?

Looks fairly simple. Why not make it yourself?

Drafting is a breeze and Revit doesn't always work the way you think it should.

Are you talking about a symbol to be used as a Block, or as a character within text strings?

To input just a square root symbol as text change the font to one that includes the character such as Symbol  then select and copy it.  You should make sure that those who will open the file in AutoCAD have the font you use.

Better yet, create a block with attributes for the various components of a roughness symbol.

Here are the ISO standards.  Check the standards your company uses.

@leeminardi :

If I put one of those symbols on my Sunfish will it make it sail faster?

Actually, some time ago I found a Canadian product that you apply to your hull that reduces the friction with the water, but now I can't find it anymore.  In 1965 I crewed for Peter Jones, winning the Jet 14 National Championship.  Each night after dark he would apply teflon spray to his hull.  There was an article I found recently about Peter (RIP), written by the fella who came in 2nd, that Peter was in 20th place in the last race but passed 18 boats to score high enough to win the series.  What he didn't say was that I was the one who told Peter to go right vs. left and we would pass all the boats.  Thank goodness he finally listened.  He was a very stubborn character, but I guess that when you're in 20th place you might as well try something different.

@john.uhden slightly off topic but I will add to the thread.

Years ago a friend of mine who worked for the Navy near Newport, RI told me about the technology of ejecting a fluid to reduce the drag encountered by torpedoes.  Check this out.

Um, I don't think I will be adding an "aqueous solution ejection system" or
" an annular discharge port." So I guess I will just have to sail
smarter. 😕
But thanks for the technicological suggestion. 🙂
