[Request] Improve readability of 2D drawings and spool drawings generated from 3D models

[Request] Improve readability of 2D drawings and spool drawings generated from 3D models

When generating 2D drawings (plan views) from 3D models in Plant 3D, pipes are currently displayed as double-line representations.
While this is acceptable for simple layouts, it significantly reduces readability in complex and dense piping areas.

Requested improvements:

  • Provide an option to generate single-line (centerline) drawings in addition to double-line representation
  • Improve visualization options for dense piping areas to enhance clarity and usability

In addition, the spool drawings generated from 3D models have several readability issues for practical field use.

Key issues to improve:

  • Dimensions are too crowded and difficult to read (optimize auto-dimensioning layout)
  • Tags and component numbers overlap or are too dense (improve placement logic and collision avoidance)
  • Dimensioning style is not suitable for field work (should follow spool-based, construction-friendly practices)
  • Poor overall balance of drawing elements (optimize scaling of text and dimensions)

Background:
Due to these issues, users are often required to manually edit the generated drawings, resulting in inefficiency and rework.

Expected outcome:
Improving these features will enable true end-to-end usage from design to construction, significantly increasing productivity.

Isometrics can be customized in every area that you mention. Instead of printing Models, Create Orthos - where you can signify Single Line drawings of the Piping. These are not new features that need to be added to software, but a lack of understanding on how to setup the software to work the way you are wanting it. I would suggest taking some Advanced Training Classes such as the ones in the link provided:
