In Plant 3D, you are able to snap to the end of pipes and fittings and you are also able to snap to the quadrants of those objects which allows you to find the top and bottom of pipe elevations. This is incredibly important when working with other disciplines (e.g. Structural)
Unfortunately, if you XREF a Plant 3D model into any other AutoCAD based software (AutoPLANT, Civil 3D, Advance Steel, etc), you can only snap to the end of pipe location. You can't snap to the quadrant and thus find the bottom of pipe elevation. This is the case even if you have the proper Plant 3D object enabler installed.
The idea is that the Plant 3D object enabler needs to have the basic snapping capabilities in all AutoCAD related products - not just Plant 3D.
