I've implemented the above workaround with relative ease in the past.
Just be wary that generating a system iso may require rougher initial settings until you can optimise your isoconfig, as with more objects to place into a limited space it sometimes won't converge. Once you sort out where to manually split it off, or scale symbols smaller than you might normally, it's easier to go from there, rather than struggling to figure out why it's timing out on generation until you get it to work. Once you have quick runs working you can then tweak the tolerances and for your final isos change the default engine runtime settings in your equivalent directory to "C:\Program Files\Autodesk\AutoCAD 2021\PLNT3D\PnPIso.exe.config" to let it produce a nicer drawing.
