Option to control/validate the position of Plant 3D Component

It would be better if we have a option to control/validate the position of Plant 3D Component.

Scenario:

We are making a PoC kind of project, in which we need to show our client about validation between AutoCAD P&ID and 3D piping model. Is there a way to validate the position of the components in the 3D Piping with respect to their position in P&ID?

I.e., if I had a strainer placed between a pump and a valve in P&ID. However, in my 3D model, I had placed the valve between the pump and strainer. Now, is there any way to validate such positioning?

In P&ID,

Pump-----Strainer------Valve

In P3D Piping,

Pump------Valve-----Strainer

Should be possible to transport data both ways using a common data format to represent the network topology. Then it's down to comparing relative node positions in the structure.

The downside is that while the model is correct, P&IDs are frequently *not* correct.  Time constraints, limited experience, etc. often conspire to limit the working intelligence of flow sheets.  I've seen this even with the high-end integrated systems from Intergraph and AVEVA.
