Wet Weight Calculation

Hi,

Is anyone aware of a wet/operating weight function / calculation in P3D?

Assuming this can be achieved in report creator by multiplying the pipe bore area by gross length (how to calculate that is another question!) and weight of water.

Any help will be greatly received.

Thanks

Iain

Dear @SoftFit_Iain ,

Unfortunately, there is no function in Plant 3D that supports the empty weight, water weight and operating weight of a planning system.
You would have to have this developed.

We have it in a lookup table in an access database and use plantxdbmanager to bring it in, prior though we use plantdefinecalcproperties to create a property for the lookup itself, we do a combo of size, schedule, insulation thickness.  Once you have that, you're looking up for a 1 ft length of that pipe, you then do another plantdefinecalcproperties to multiply it by the cut length into a new property.  It sounds difficult, but it's not bad.

Grain of salt time... Most of the designers here don't bother with weight calcs for support selection, they just go by experience.
