SQL Server Plant 3D Project

Hello,

I'm searching some information on pre request before creating a plant 3D project on SQL server.

We have for the moment a lot of issues for sharing a project between different users, with permission rights not correctly setup and data locking in middle of working.

On the window Project setup wizard plant 3D it is written that "If you are working with many users simultaneously, it is recommended that you configure a SQL Server database".

What is the best setup for an efficient working on plant 3D project in the case of multi-users mode?

In advance thanks for your help.

there are a lot of articles in Autodesk Knowledge Base about sql & Plant

here is a pdf tied to this one that goes over setup of sql server to use with Plant 3D: https://knowledge.autodesk.com/support/autocad-plant-3d/learn-explore/caas/sfdcarticles/sfdcarticles...

Thank you for the link to the documentation.

I'm reading it and try to see if it works for us.

I've yet seen that is possible to use SQL Express if we don't use Vault, wich is our case.

Hello,

Can you explain me the real impact with an example of application where the SQLite project differ from a SQL Server project?

For example when I'm creating a pipe with components and flanges and an other user connects to the project to root a second pipe welded to this first pipe. Is a SQL Server project is better then a SQLite project?

Thank you for your help.

Hello,

My company currently using plant 3d, but the collaboration between civil, piping & electrical system are manually thru server. In project setup in plant 3d they have option for multi user with the SQL requirement this system can collaborate in our current system?

Any suggestion regarding collaboration between system working in 1 project setup?

Thanks,

Eugene
