Spec Update changes all components to layer 0

Hello CAD users,

I have several pipes on different layers, and added a component to the spec.  To get the new component I use "plantspecupdate" and the spec updates.  It also changes all the previously modelled pipes to layer 0.

Does anyone have any ideas on how to update the spec for new component without Plant3D changing all the components to layer 0?

Am I using the correct command there?

Thanks,

Chris

Please contact Autodesk Support.
I've never read this problem before.

Hi nonagonCSS,

ensure that the option "Use 3D model layer" is activated. this option is set at title block setting.

Thanks for the replies,

@h_eger- unfortunately I am not the admin for the company and it seems I cannot contact support desk unless I am.

@DGRL @- it is a SQLite server, no vault.  It is on a network server

@hussineakrmi80- I have had a look for this setting and cannot find it.

Experimenting last night, I found that if I lock the layers, then specupdate, the problem does not happen.  However a proper solution is always better than a workaround.
