Hi I'm fairly new to Plant 3d, I'm having a really hard time getting my BOM to print out with different grade fittings and piping? How do I change this in the spec editor?
Can no one give any input on this? 😞
You can do that in the spac file or directly in the catalog.
Than save on it and click on the bottom left corner icon "Spec Update".
That will overwrite the properties of all already built items.
But then you have to regenerate the ISOS.
Well it depends on how many types of component you have.
And on what is the BOM structure of your components.
But of course, that is quite a bit modification, if it affects all components.
But the only solution is to do that in the spec editor.
Hi,
I'm not sure what you are trying to achieve exactly. Are you modelling using a 'generic' spec and then looking to update materials afterwards? If so, you would be better served setting up the spec(s) you require before you start modelling.
If you require to change the spec of a piperun, you can always select the pipe and change its Spec property through the properties window, assuming that you have already created the spec you require. If it's just a matter of changing material properties, you can copy an existing spec in the Spec Editor and simply update the material properties in the new one. You can then copy the new spec to your project, select the pipes you need to change in the model and update their spec property.
Regards,
Andy
