Smart Pipe Fittings and VP Color Overrides

Hello I am having an inconsistency issue with colors for smart pipe fittings in viewports.

When setting my objects to color by layer, and then using viewport layer color overrides smart pipe fittings do not take on the color of the vp settings and remain on the model layer color. This happens both with the built in fitting models as well as custom parts made from blocks. Notably the pipe still takes on the vp color as expected.

I was resigned to this situation until I found on one of our devices the fittings behave the way one would expect, adjusting colors to each vp override.

I believe all systems have the same plantd3D/autocad settings (obviously if I knew where to check I would be able to answer this more affirmatively, or even avoid making this post)

Any insight or help with this issue would be greatly appreciated

Thank you for your time.

Best Regards,

JP

I'm having this exact same issue with Civil 3D - this is just the first post I came across with someone having this same very specific issue. Drives me crazy.

Edit: Notably, this actually is only a "half-issue"...

The viewport colour overrides don't appear to work when viewed on screen in Civil3D.

However, once plotted to PDF, the VP colour override takes effect just fine.

I have no idea why this would be the case, but at least we can work around it (if in fact this works in Plant3D as well)
