Hey Team,
Does anyone know a good way to be able to search for a specific Spool Number that lives within a project then have AutoCAD open the model where that spool number Exists?
This might be more complicated and have to be some sort of Script or Macro?
Big Picture:
I'm trying to create a way to get a 3D SW Isometric view of each Spool onto its corresponding Isometric Drawing. Starting one step at a time by trying to locate the spool first.
Thanks,
I'm sure you can do this with the .NET API. Maybe LISP, but only if the property you are using to identify the spool is found in the VLAX properties.
To quickly locate a spool number (or any data)
Data manager.
Plant 3d Project data
Order by object type
I wrote a scrip to do this in the ISO via PlantPCFTOPIPE but too many items were omitted.
Thanks Guys,
The .Net API is probably the way to go. I'm just not familiar with using it so ill have to do some research here into getting started with that.
Yes the Data Manager can find Spools and any other info you are looking for but I was hoping for more of a tool that provides a list of all current spool numbers in the project that you can select from. Unless the data manager can do that? But as far as I know you have to select a component type to search for, then filter by spool number. The resulting list has duplicates depending on the qty of "Elbows" for example are on that spool number.
Ill keep digging!
