Pumps - threaded nozzles rather than flanged

By default Plant 3D only allows flanged nozzles on pumps.  Many smaller pumps have female threaded connections.  Has anyone found a way to customize the software to allow selection of other connection types other than flanged?

Change the file extension to .pcat while editing and return it to .acat when done.

I don't think that's what I need since the option of female threaded and male threaded is selectable on other types of equipment.  That tells me that it is set up in the Nozzles spec/catalog already.  It is limited to only flange type on pumps.  Heat Exchanges, tanks and most other equipment types have other options selectable, other than flanged.  Something is limiting pumps to only allow selection of flanged nozzles though.

Hi Mkjaeger,

when I understand you correctly you want to change the end type of the equipment nozzles from FL to THDF. Therefore select first the equipment, press CTRL and click the nozzle. You will see a pen. Click it.. You will get this dialog where you can change the end type of the nozzle.

@Bernd.Gerstenberger

@Anonymous  is correct.. you cannot create a pump with threaded connections. You only get a flanged option

Your answer was correct for other equipment but not pumps

My workaround is to create a custom object.

I've added this as an idea over in the Idea Area for Plant 3D. <<HERE>>

It would be helpful if you would vote on it if you think it's a good idea.

Thanks

create the pump in the normal way, adjust the dimensions. Then explode it and convert it back to a pump. The THDM connection will be available after 'add nozzle'.

Thanks for the input Peter.  That's the exact work around that I had come up with.  It works, but it's time consuming, so I also opened a Support case for this matter and the response was that Autodesk has put this to their Development Team for incorporation to a future release.
