Plant 3D use PlaceHolder Spec when Short Description is different in derivation

Hi everyone,

I'm trying to continue route pipe "+" and change size, header 20" and branch 2", a drain for example. For some reason Plant 3D use Placeholder Spec when ShortDescription is different. In my Spec, pipes 2"-6" SCH 40, 8"-10" SCH 40 and 12"-24" SCH STD, so short description are different. I change the short description of my SCH40 pipe (6") and it worked as expected. But SCH20 (10") with different shortdescription Plant 3D use PlaceHolder spec.

It just occur when I derive from header. If I connect in the header it works.

Anyone have an ideia how to change this config?

Best regards,

Vinicius M Miguel

I cannot recreate your issue, and I don't think the placeholder spec is used because you changed your short description.

The placeholder spec is used when you're attempting to place a part that is not present in your spec, or that is not allowed to be placed according to the branch table in your spec. In those cases a placeholder part is placed instead. So either you don't have a 10" pipe in your spec, or there is not pipe to pipe branch foreseen for the 10" to xx" in your spec's branch table.

Try recreating the error with two 6" pipes (which you know work correctly). Then try recreating the error with two 10" pipes (which you assume doesn't work correctly because of the short description)

Hi Michiel.

I just deleted the PlaceHolderMetric spec and Plant worked as expected. Idk the reason but with different short description he was using the pipe of the PlaceHolderMetric Spec.

We use Mixed Metric project so we dont't use PlaceHolderMetricSpec, no problem to delete it.
