Hi All,
This is my first post, I really hope somebody can help us out.
We've only recently started using Plant 3D, and a lot of what we do is modifying existing pipework. For this reason a lot of the existing pipework (which was commonly installed in the 60's and 70's is often not perfectly square. This means a lot of our models contain skewed connections. When we build a ortho view from this, the sections where the pipe overlaps results in missing weld lines. I've attached a screenshot to demonstate the issue.
Many thanks in advance.
James
Thanks for the reply, Ed.
No, I'm afraid that doesn't seem to help. I can see why the problem is occurring. It just seems odd that tolerances on alignments are built into the software, but then not fully addressed when it comes to creating ortho views. My guess is that they are using the native AutoCAD 'Flatshot' function to generate the views, which is not a full solution.
Any chance you can post that model here so I can test it?
