Orthographic view blank and not creating layers from 3D model

I have my orthographic layer set up to "use 3D model layers".  However, when I generate an orthographic view, the viewport is blank and none of the 3D model layers are created in the orthographic view.  I have de-selected the option to use 3D model layers, and there is no change.  When I edit the orthographic view, the 3D model is visible, and I can set the ortho cube so everything should be visible on my paper.  Any suggestions for where to look next would be much appreciated.

Dear @lshadrick ,

Are there any 3D CAD objects in your Plant 3D models that come from external systems, e.g. STEP files?
Which Plant 3D version are you using?

Hi @h_eger,

I am using Plant 3D 2023.  I do have a few imported solids.  I have a skid imported via parasolid from Solidworks.  And I have a large vendor system imported via .stp from Inventor.

I would hide all externally imported models once and test the ortho creation and show the external models step by step until you find out where the problem is coming from.

@h_eger, thanks for that idea.  I've been working through the imported models and the problem appears to be in a 3D DWG file that was imported from a vendor.  Is there a way to "fix" that model so it will work with the orthographic view?

Dear @lshadrick ,

Troubleshooting a broken 3D model is something for the professionals.
I use CADDoctor for that.

@h_eger, thanks for all of your help.  I'll try to go get a better export from the vendor first and see if I can get it working that way.
