metric pipe showing as imperiel in ISO BOM

I have an imperial spec and a metric spec, within a mixed metric project.

If I insert a 2" pipe from the imperial spec and a DN50 pipe from the metric spec, they both show as 2" in the ISO BOM.

Is there a way to get the DN50 pipe to show as DN50 and not as 2" in the ISO BOM?

I'm in the same situation as you, furthermore I have P&ID in both units.

Plant 3D always put units in Inches (Maybe changing the position on NominalDiameterMap.csv)  I've tried to do it mapping the nominal size from P&ID to P3d Line Group and using that nominal size In the Pipe Line number on the PipeRun part of the config. It works partially. But is not enough.

Can somebody help Us?

Thanks in advance.

Hi @Anonymous,

Just so I am clear, you want metric spec parts to show in mm and Imperial spec parts to show the size in inches?

If that is the requirement, you could change the BOM table to use the Nominal Diameter property rather than the size property.

That would give you the numeric value without the prefix DN for metric or the " suffix for inches.

Thanks,

Dan

Hi @Dan.Scales

How do I do that? in the table set up, it looks like it is already set to nominal diameter -

Hi @Anonymous,

The ND column actually points to the Size property.

You need to add a new column and select the Nominal Diameter property:

Hi @Dan.Scales

Do you know if it is possible and how to add the suffix for the ND column?

Because without the suffix mistakes will arise

If this was of any help please kudo and/or Accept as Solution
Kind Regards

Hi @DGRL,

I couldn't find a way to add a suffix.

One option would be to add an adjacent column that shows the <NOMINAL UNIT>.

Thanks,

Hi Dan

Unfortunately this is not a valid solution for me. If setting the column to Nominal Diameter the sizes of my bolt sets are also reported in terms of the nominal diameter of my pipe. Are you sure there is no other way to report dimensions (IE nominal diameters) in terms of mm such that the bolt sizes are not affected?

Kind Regards

Marga
