Matching pipe OD should be filled with correct value

Good Afternoon Everyone

Iam trying to create a item for a catalogue.

Its a pipe that is approx 6m log and has a socket at one end and spiggot at the other.

There is verious lengths and sizes howver i cant even get one to work.

Step 1. I created a 3d model and added the parts plantpartconvert nodes at either end of the pipe.

Step 2. I have tried adding this as a custom shape in to the catalogue and when i go to save i get the " matching pipe OD should be filled with correct value" message

Step 3. I have also tried using one of the inbuilt profiles but this still dosnt let me save and iam greeted by the same message.

I have tried finding a solution in the end codes and also the project setting but to no avail.

Iam lost to what to do as the pipe is effectively only ever going to interact with its own size at either end

I have tried looking at existing questions, utube videos and spent about 5 days trying to sort this out

Any help would be greatly appriciated

Kind Regards

Paul

You need to fill in the actual diameter for mating pipe, not the nominal size.

Many thanks for your reply George.

I have tried that and unfortunatly that dosnt work either.

Really appriete you trying to help me sort this out 🙂

I have tried the following

P1

ND - 100

MPOD - 110.3

P2

ND - 100

MPOD - 111

And

P1

ND - 111

MPOD - 110.3

P2

ND - 110.3

MPOD - 111

It still dosnt want to save and iam greated by the same message. Not sure what iam doing wrong here.

If i change the ND to suit the actual size then it changes how its displayed i the size column.

Kind Regards

Paul

Dear @Anonymous ,

please update ALL values in your list afterwards you can also save.
One question: did you have any training on how to use the SpecEditor?

Good Evening Hartmut

Not quite sure what you mean by updating the list to save is this something i have missed, iam unable to do anything without the matching OD coming up.

No iam self taught and have been learning watching utube etc.

If you know of any good resources it would be greatly appriciated

Kind Regards

I won't  save your part until you have all the pipes OD of all diameters options filled in.

The way I do it if I want to test things:
-I add one diameter, fill everything I need,
-I hit save to catalog, and try it out in a spec
I then add another diameter, etc.

One thing to note is that if you add aditional diameters to your part, once you've added it in a spec, you need to double click your part in the spec editor tab uncheck them in that dialog for them to show up, they will be hidden by default

You need to fill matching pipe OD value in all port like S1 and S2. after that save the catalog

Thanks everyone for your help in trying to sort this out.

I seems that the catalogue i had downloaded for the net was either corrupted or had the settings played around with. Either way creating one from the standard default Autodesk seems to have done the trick.

Then i ran in to another problem where i was unable to save to my catalogue. After some reseach and assistnce from a fantastic Autodesk customer support the problem was solved. The catalouges were in a location the i did not have permissions to save to.

Thanks again

I then add another diameter, etc.

That sounds like a very time-consuming process. If only there was a way to import data from Excel files...
