ISOMETRICS DRAWINGS - Customize BoM

Heyall,

I have BOM table on my isos created as standard table with BOM Layout template > Grouped with category titles

more info on link

http://help.autodesk.com/view/PLNT3D/2015/ENU/?guid=GUID-0E0A9B67-84EB-4003-9491-528F28CA659B

I choose columns to show

ID QTY ND DESCRIPTIONS

this layout of BOM is perfect for the client, but...

...But for this BOM I wish to include also item "Pipe Supports" as category, but with different columns.

Q1: Is it possible to have two BOM tables on one ISOS, one with regular Fabrication and Erection items, and second BOM only with e.g. items Pipe supports and Instruments.

Q2: is it possible to add different column only for e.g. Pipe supports and keep layout "Grouped with category titles"...

...Now when I read this abowe, sound a little bit strange, because then, I will not have appropriate column Name, for that item.

Solution is maybe in answer on question Q1.

P.S I am a little bit familiar with editing isoconfig.xml

Thank You in advance,

Srdjan

Thank You Sir,

This document is very useful, and thanks on sharing...
But this solution for Task 22 in document does not solve when You have BOM layout configured as "Grouped with category titles"
It work perfectly with layout configured as "Grouped with Independent Columns"..

Do You have idea about my question Q1 🙂

Ok, I understand, two BOM is not possible to have...

But, I need/have BOM layout like on picture below

2016-03-25_151953.jpg
and I need in section "PIPE SUPPORTS" to have different data, not description, or to have Description and for e.g. Tag Number of support

Is it possible to edit isoconfig.xml only for supports to show several data from model in column "Description"

Q3. Is it possible to edit thro isoconfig.xml e.q. cut list on isometric to show instruments onlu, not cut parts.

P.S Text in row 13 for description-column " REFERENCE ..." is added manualy.

Hi Srdjan,
this task is not as easy as I too have to do some testing.
Can take a few days until I can give an answer.

Q3 no chance the lists are HC (hardcoded) imho

Hi Srdjan,

yes, it is possible to group the BOM by Shop/Field-components and additionally to select different columns for the supports.

For the different columns for the supports compared to the other components you have to use mandatory the BOM Layout template 'Grouped with independent columns" as Hartmut has shown you by my handout. You cannot use 'Grouped with category titles'. With this template you haven't the possibiliity to select different columns for different component types. Here a snapshot how it can look like:

For the second task to separate Fabrication and Erection Items in the BOM just switch to the second tab 'Settings' and check 'Create separate Fabrication and Erection table sections'

About your question of adding instruments into the cut list: My answer is: I have a question: Why should an instrument be added to a cut list? Isn't it better to add an instrument to the BOM?

If you agree to add an instrument to the BOM I have added another handout. Look for the first task there. It will be described how to add an instrument to a catalog and via spec into a model and how to get the instrument into an isometric BOM.
