How to create new components & fittings for intelligent piping?

Dear Discussion Group:

We are currently working on a large project with lots of piping.  We are finding that there are many common fittings that are not included in the piping catalog for P3D.  (example: a 4"x4"x2" reducing tee in CS150 welded).  I have tried to figure out on my own how to create items like this in the spec editor but become overwhelmed and unable to create these items sucessfully...

Question:  What is the best & easiest way to create items like this as part of the intelligent piping?  Is there an Autodesk video walkthrough that illustrates how to do this?

Actually, creating, editing and adding of piping components in Plant 3D is one of its unique feature because it is easy to handle, well as for me. Normally in all the projects that we have, we do not use default specs but create a new one conforming to the clients spec, or company's spec provided. As for your situation, you can easily edit that spec, by using the "Autodesk AutoCAD Plant 3D Spec Editor". I know there are many tutorials about using it and I am assuring you that it is easy to learn. If in case you need it badly and dont have luxury of time to study it, you can ask help to anyone here who is available and knowledgeable of the Spec creation and ask him/her for help, if he/she could create or edit or customize a Spec for you. Thanks

You will find a number of getting started videos. There are four for the spec editor. I haven't looked at them again but I believe one of these will answer most of your questions. After you look at them come back with more specific questions and we will see what we can do.
