Hi community,

Is it possible to add more columns in Data manager?

I am wondering if I can add a column such as Insulation Type and Insulation Thickness in the data manager for Pipe Run Components?

Currently, I can only view Insulation Type and Insulation Thickness under Pipelines which that is the Pipeline Group property. It would be really helpful to see the said properties on each component as there are pipes that has sections where insulation is not necessary and has to be removed.

Additionally, I wonder if it is possible to add a "Layer Column" in data manager? It will be helpful so that layers can be reviewed faster.

Your response will be greatly appreciated.

Thank you very much.

Regards,

Ian

@salvadorian_avendano_qs6 ,

Is already available by default with an acquisition of the P3dLioneGroup

For such tasks, we cut the pipe with a weld so that we can create an insulation boundary.

As Plant 3D is designed as an object-orientated database solution, no layer information is written to the database and this is therefore not possible by default.

@youngsa1 ,

can you please show an example of how the layer information is mapped in a data field in the project setup of Plant 3D?

@youngsa1 ,
thank you for taking the time answering my question.
I've been trying my best to find out how to do that, So I'll really appreciate if you can show more details on how to do what you just explained.

Thank you very much!

@h_eger

I'm always thankful to your answers!

About your answer on the 2nd part of my question,
 For such tasks, we cut the pipe with a weld so that we can create an insulation boundary.

      Can you show an example?

      This is what we would like to do in the model, but it is a bit troublesome to change this in the model properties               every time some changes is decided.
