How to add Line Segment Tag to Tie-In using Leader

Hello,

I am having trouble getting the tie-in symbol to grab the Line Tag that the leader is attached to. In a project with over 80 tie-points, it gets difficult to track them all down when exporting using the Report Creator.  In the example, I have a ball valve that is working and grabs the associated line tag.  I copied the parameters for the Tie-In but it does not seem to work?  I have also tried placing the tie-in onto the line, but this does nothing.  Any suggestions would be great.

Dear @daniel.merritt26 ,

Tie-In is a non-engineering item and therefore for information only this object cannot take over information from in-line objects.

@h_egerIf thats the case, then I would have re-create and have it as an Engineered item?  Is this what you did or do you just manually type it in?

@daniel.merritt26 ,

I enter the Tie-In Numbers manually because I can't link to the In-Line objects.
I have tested it again but it does not work

Create the Tie-In annotation with symbol under Line Segments like we do for Pipeline Tag. Then when you right-click on the pipeline, select Annotation from the popup menu, you can select the Tie-In tag there. If you map the pipeline number to an attribute in the Annotation, you could potentially make it invisible so it doesn't show on face of drawing but will allow you to report on it as you wish.

I figured it out.  I found that the Field Discrete Instrument uses premade leaders that can grab line data.  So I copied it over, created a new Symbol (VEi Tie in) and added the Line_Tag acquisition.   I then moved it from that location in the tool pallete to the area where our other tie-in symbol is stored.
