How do I prevent spool isometrics to split at the branch of a tee or a stub-in?

Hello,

I would like to create spool isometrics with the end points either being flanges or caps. For some reason my spool isometrics now also split at a branch of a tee and at a stub-in. As seen in the screenshot below; Surrounded in green is what I wish to accomplish (just 2 sheets), surrounded in red is what is generated at this moment (3 sheets).

@Tom_Jipping ,

It works for me as you have described.

Standard Iso Template Final_A2

Usually when I want to force ISOGEN to a specific number of sheets, I will turn off the Automatic Drawing Congestion Splitting (uncheck... mine is currently checked). Then I will place an ISOGENSTARTPT at the beginning. Then place a STOPSIGN at the point where I want the first page to end. If you are only trying to generate two sheets, you only need one STOPSIGN. Everything prior to the stop goes on sheet one, everything after goes on sheet two.

I see, and did you use any breakpoints at the flanged connection? Also, my wish is to just have a weld spool isometric. So nog boltsets or gaskets. Just a spool from 1 welded part to another (and in my example to 2 other end points). Is this possible?

Below are the results of the standard iso template Spool A3, this is exactly what I wish to see but it just cuts the spools in 2 at a Tee and there is no weld to be seen on either sheet.

Is the weld between the reducing tee and straight run a field weld? Have you allowed field welds to show up in your isometrics? Something is different between that weld and the rest. Start going through them and figure out why it's different, and if it needs to be different.

All 3 welds are the same at the Tee. I think some setting is blocking branched connections (Tee, Stub-in) to be shown on a spool isometric.

Well, with some correct terminology in the google (you need to be very specific with your word choices apparently) search bar I came across this older forum post;

The first reply by @PeterQuinn gave me the solution. Setting the ''MaxDirectionChanges'' from 3 to 0 in the isoconfig.xml solved my problem.

Thanks @Chuck_Hackett and @h_eger for thinking along.

So a couple of things I'd check:

  • Again, the Automatic Split Points (personally I uncheck this when I want to control the split points, Picture 1)
  • Below that, same screen, make sure Split Drawing on Property Change is NOT checked (picture 1)
    • For grins, make sure none of the boxes below this one are checked (red square, picture 1)
  • Under Themes, Branch Piping... is it on? (top right, picture 2)
  • What size is it set up as? (picture 2)
  • Under Themes, Override... is it on? (top right, picture 3)
  • What size is it set on? (picture 3)

I'm not going to go through all of 'em, but I hope you get the point. Need to run through there and verify your settings.
