I want to do a video of a project I have in Plant 3D which involves a lot of pipes in a ship, I have the point cloud but Plant 3D lacks the visibility and ease of navigation that Recap Pro has, how can I go around the point cloud like in recap but be able to see the pipes that I made in Plant 3D, maybe even in real view mode ? Can Recap Pro open Plant 3D project ?

Recap can import an NWD. Create an NWD from your Plant project, then use Recap to import that NWD and view both the Point Cloud and your plant project together.

I need to install Navisworks in order to be able to save in that format right ? Plant 3D can not export it to that.

Ok, so today I tried to import NWD file to recap pro, it said

Screenshot_1.jpg

But I see nothing to be attached. Here's how I did it, first I loaded the Point cloud in Recap which is visible on the image, then I exported from Plant 3D my project using NWCOUT, then I open the project in Navis and choose Save as NWD, then I try to attack it but nothing...

Screenshot_2.jpgThis is how it looks in Navisworks. Probably I do something wrong, so I will ask.

1. Do I need to export the project to NWD file with the point cloud there or without it like in the image above ?

2. When I export from Plant 3d to NWC in Navisworks the pipes are not in their correct position like in Plant 3d but shifted a bit outside the cloud like in the image.
