I was given a NWD file and I want to bring it into my AutoCAD drawing. Then save it so it can be xrefed into another model.

I tried to open the NWD and export as a DWF/DWFX and even a FBX but when bringing it into AutoCAD it says theres errors. Thanks

You should be able to bring the NWD in as a Coordination Model. This treats it as an xref so you can view the NWD in AutoCAD.

@rugsr7export the NWD as FBX file & import it in AutoCAD.

Hi,

FBX import/export was removed from AutoCAD in the 2019 version.

There is no direct way to convert  Navisworks geometry to AutoCAD geometry - Navisworks models are intended to be used for viewing and coordination rather than modelling.

That said, you could try using 3DS Max.  Export from Navisworks to FBX, import the FBX into 3DS Max then export to DWG.

Regards,

Andy
