Got AutoCAD Plant 3D 2012... Need some guidelines..

Hi

We got an unused AutoCAD Plant 3D 2012 in my company, and for now we're thinking about use Plant 3D... Right now we just use AutoCAD and Inventor...

Right now I test the old version, to see what we can do with it etc. Where can I find turturials? I have seen the youtube files, but I'm looking for a little bit deeper insight. Maybe descripted for people who are familiar with AutoCAD and Inventor.

Some of the problems:

1. How do I make this pipe follow the route I have indicated with the red pen?

The only route I can take: http://i.imgur.com/7joz1iu.png How I want it to go: http://i.imgur.com/RRN3EsI.png + http://i.imgur.com/XlD2phr.png

2. How do I make slope on the pipe marked in the image? When I add slope it breaks with the bend that is connected to the equipment.

3. How do I connect the pipes after the slope is added, so they are not "leaking"?

The 3D model I'm "playing" with can be found here: https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B6ziwJH7f6ckSUl2UnQ1TUVJRTQ/view?usp=sharing

Hi,

If I understand you:

1) When you are routing the pipe, have you tried to press "P" to change de plane?

2) When I need to make a slope, I normally use a line and then I convert it.  If you know the slope (25º), press "Toggle Cutback elbows".

3) Do you want do this?

To do this I have used:
1- I have activated "Toggle Cutback Elbow" to cut my spec elbows to create a slope.
2- I have extended the pipe.
3- Then I have added an elbow 90º

I hope that help you

Please get a later version! There have been so many improvements in the last four years. You can download a 30 day trial from the main Autodesk site.
