Good Day,

nisard_0-1746092734938.png

I want to create the above "FLANGE REDUCING SADDLE" components for my RTRP CATALOG.

Please can someone show me in what "COMPONENT CATEGORY" it has to be added and what will be the "Iso Symbol Type" and "Iso Symbol SKEY".

Appreciate your help

"Iso Symbol Type" = OLET

"Iso Symbol SKEY" = FLBW (You still need to create the ISO symbol for this as it does not yet exist.)

Set the value ‘W’ to 0 and it will work.

Hi,

Thank You @h_eger for your prompt reply.

I did as per your instructions, but the saddle is not showing in the 3Dmodel, below is the information I filled while creating the component:

I put 'W' as 152, which is the length of saddle

nisard_0-1746340295245.png

After linking the above component in the spec , I got the below result, which is not what I need for the specs:

nisard_1-1746340451234.png

The Olet I need for my specs is as shown below:

It comes with a pipe, flange and saddle, which will be connected as a branch to a pipe with adhesive.

Please show where I am going wrong.

Appreciate your help.

Such components are not included in the scope of delivery of the Plant 3D variant design.
You have to construct such a part with Python Script.

Hi,

Thank you @h_eger for your prompt reply.

I don't know Python.

In that case I was thinking of creating a custom part. I am stuck with what "COMPONENT CATEGORY" it has to be added and what will be the "Iso Symbol Type" and "Iso Symbol SKEY" for the custom part.

Appreciate you help.

Hi,

Part Type:
Olet.

You can base it on an existing template.
But from what I’ve seen, there’s no OLET with "FL" in the SKEY — it returned a missing symbol. For testing purposes, I used:
"SKEY=WTBW, TYPE=OLET"

And this was the result in the isometric:

If you want something custom, you’ll need to either find an existing symbol that fits better or create a new custom one.

Hi,

Thank you @EddyWagner for your prompt reply

I used the below setting for creating Custom Part - FLANGED REDUCING SADDLE

Please note that the "FLANGED REDUCING SADDLE" IS GLUED TO THE RTRP PIPE

nisard_0-1746517716128.png

nisard_2-1746517820465.png

 In my 3D model it looks like this :

nisard_3-1746517985413.png

PORT 1 = PPL

PORT 2 = FL

Iso Symbol Type = OLET

Iso Symbol SKEY =

In Isometric it should look like below :

Please can you show what setting I should do to get the above Isometric.

Appreciate your help

Hi,

You need to configure the SKEY options.
You might try using WTFL. After that, you need to edit the IsoSkeyAcadBlockMap.xml file:

<!-- Begin: Olets -->
<SkeyMap SKEY="SKSW" AcadBlock="Olet1"/>
<SkeyMap SKEY="TH??" AcadBlock="Olet1"/>
<SkeyMap SKEY="WTBW" AcadBlock="Olet1"/>
<SkeyMap SKEY="WTFT" AcadBlock="Olet3"/>
<SkeyMap SKEY="HC??" AcadBlock="Olet-Half Coupling"/>
<SkeyMap SKEY="LA??" AcadBlock="Latrolet1"/>
<SkeyMap SKEY="FE??" AcadBlock="Ferrule-Flared"/>
<!-- End: Olets -->

Then, you need to create the symbol in Edit Isometric Symbols.

You can use Olet1 as a base.
Edit the block as needed and save it as Olet3.

Remember, your SKEY must be WTFT.

Hi,

Thank You @EddyWagner for your prompt reply

I did as per your inputs, as shown below:

nisard_0-1746609933956.png

nisard_0-1746614315397.png

nisard_2-1746609933960.png

but the Iso is not coming correctly. It's coming in 2 sheets as shown below:

nisard_1-1746614360539.png

Iso Sheet - 1

nisard_4-1746609933966.png

Iso Sheet - 2.

Please note in My 3D model the connection between the "Flanged Reducing Saddle" & Pipe is showing disconnected port as shown below:

nisard_5-1746609933967.png

The Settings in Catalog are shown below:

nisard_6-1746609933968.png

nisard_7-1746609933970.png

nisard_8-1746609933972.png

It may be noted that the "Flanged Reducing Saddle" is glued on the Pipe, that's why I have used Port 1 Endtype as PPL.

Please can you show me where I am going wrong

Appreciate your expert inputs.

I didn’t use the PPL end type because the correct end type for Olet is BV, like this:

EddyWagner_1-1746619347816.png

Please try changing it to BV

Hi,

Thank you @EddyWagner for your inputs,

I tried using BV end type for Port 1, it's still showing "Disconnected Port".

But, when I used Universal_ET  end type for port 1, the connection in 3D model and ISOMETRIC was perfect as shown below:

nisard_0-1746679965989.png

nisard_1-1746680022589.png

nisard_2-1746680097374.png

Isometric.

Is it Ok to use "UNIVERSAL_ET" end type for port 1?

Appreciate your inputs

Regards,
