Dynamic Block Parameters and Actions in P&ID

I am having a problem in using Dynamic Block in AutoCAD P&ID. In our project we must put flange, butt weld, socket weld in the Valve so sometimes if the two valves is close to each other the flange(for example) will not be visible. So I use the dynamic block but the parameters is not working once the symbol is in tool palette.

From the valve symbol that I made there are 4 visibility state:

1. Valve with flange on both sideDynamic Block Valve.PNG

2. Valve with flange on left side only

As you can see in image below the visibility is not working here.

Dynamic block is an "Autocad" thing, It doesn't work in "Autocad P&ID"

 

P&ID is a schematic representation of the reality, so not everything needs to be as is. btw: I have never seen 2 valves mounted against each other, that does not work.

I see the dynamic block is not working here.

 

In our project we have valves that is close to each other.  for maintenance purposes.

this picture is from other software "AVEVA".

 

Every valve tag has a symbol (TAG and Symbol name is same). So that the user will not be mistaken in inputting wrong valve. Also for us to checked it thru excel sheet (Export) by copying the symbol name and paste it to TAG.

Then Import back to DWG.

 

This method can be use also in Autocad P&ID if only the Dynamic block editor is working.

Maybe you can use 2 valves, but specify no "END CONNECTIONS" and then add 2 nozzles (flanges) manually on both sides...?

The end connection can be use but it is always both side of the valve.

It will be difficult for us to set-up all type of valve in block editor for the Attachment point: Endcode 0 to 180.

Example if we create three or four type

For Gate Valve:

Gate Valve Type 1 - has attachment point1: Endcode 0 and attachment point2: Endcode 180

Gate Valve Type 2 - has attachment point1: Endcode 0

Gate Valve type 3 - has attachment point2: Endcode 180

Gate Valve type 4 - No attachment point

 

the tool palette will be crowded of symbol if I will do this.

Thank you for the suggestion.

Your suggestion is OK if the 2 valve(close together) in the drawing is few but if the 2 valve(close together) in drawing is many. It will take time to do this manually.

I will use also this in other symbol like TANK, Flange, that can be stretch. I hope the Autodesk make a solution in this kind of problem and allow dynamic block editor to be use.
