Data Base Unique Identifiers for all Components

Hey Team,

I was looking through one of my plant 3d models and was wondering when you model does Plant 3D assign a unique identifier number to each component input into the data manager? Looking through the columns in the data manager I do not see anything related to an identification number for each row of data.

Is this something we can add or does this function not exist?

Again I am looking to find/add a unique identifier number for each and every row in the data manager of plant 3d. That way I can reference that number later to find that specific component.

Thanks,

The PnPID number is unique for every item in the database.

Hey thanks for the reply!

does that number stay linked to that specific component as long as it exists in the project? Like it never changes for any reason does it?

my ultimate goal is to try and use that number and tag the components in a 3D orthographic drawing. And have those numbers stay true as we make model changes.

thanks!

It never changes. It also never repeats even if deleted.
