Cut lenght in feet & inches in annotation

I'm using 2019 P3D and I'm trying to get an annotation in my ortho view that will show the cut length of a section of pipe in feet and inches. Right now when I set up and annotation for "cut length", it shows as decimal inches. I would like this to be in feet and inches format.

This can be changed in the ISO defaults under project setup. See screen shots below.

Thanks for your reply but I want this feature for my ortho drawings, not the Iso's. What puzzles me is when I scroll over the pipe in my 3D model, I get the cut length in my roll over tool tips in feet and inches. Don't understand why it doesn't work in my ortho annotations?

oops sorry for the misread. When I see cut length annotation I think ISO. Since I cannot replicate this, here is a suggestion.

If you go to project setup; under plant 3D class definitions and find the ortho annotation style you are using. Click on edit block and see what the units are set as. I have noticed in the past that they default to decimal.

Another thing to try is in the same location click the edit annotation and set the properties to inherit object properties and not to use the style property.

I think the only way is to add ISGEOMETRY=TRUE attribute to CutLength column.

If you can manually edit your db. PnPColumnAttributes table

Piping.dcf, if SQLite project. You can edit it in any SQLite editor

I have not tried this since I'm not comfortable going in and changing databases. I don't know enough about what has to be done, so I stay away. I guess I'll have to wait until Autodesk makes the revision in a future release. I appreciate Roman for offering a solution, but I won't fool with the DB.

I created a video walking through the steps on how to make the edits to the database. I would always recommend making sure to have backups of the database before making any edits. Incorrect changes could cause corruptions with projects. I used the SQLite Expert database editor for the example. Hope this helps.

i followed your video and when I came to saving the changes I got an error message and i couldn't save my changes. I'm enclosing a screen shot of the changes in SQLite along with the error message text file that was generated.

@MARTINAMEDEO2597  and I were able to walk through the video with the .dcf file in question and resolve it. The video is the recommended work flow for getting this done. Just please make sure that the line gets assigned a number in the database. This will confirm the attribute has been added to the table.

Where in Ortho view? Will setting Architectural UNITS in the dwg before placing annotation help?

I’m working on a metric project where I need to create a property that shows the pipe cut length in feet and inches, based on our customer's request. The idea is to use ortho annotations to pull the property value for our ortho drawings.
