Since Plant3D2012 I tried to add our company custom made pipe supports to a support catalog and support spec (Toolpalette).
I already asked on several places for a solution (also on autodesk forum), but I have still no right answer.
Now I work with Plant3D2015 and I want to get fix this problem. Who can help?
I have over 500 supports to add. In the attachment you can see what I already have tried.
With kind regards, Hendrik Segveld
Mayben, just a thought, maybe you could use plantpart convert to all your support, add it to spec not as a support but as a coupling or valve or olet (anything you prefer), then create a custom symbol and SKEY for your support so it will be placed in the ISO as what you want it to be seen. Maybe you can do that.

I had the same issue last year. See my blog for what I had to do.

It will take you a few hours/days/weeks to get the first one done (depending on your level of programming capabilities) but after that first one, you can start mass producing supports. The first one for me in Python, with very little documentation at my fingertips, took a couple of weeks. After that, I began producing them pretty quickly. I have developed 30 so far. Unfortunately, they don't look like your example. I have some that are tee pole supports but without that clamp attachment you show at the top.
With PLANTPIPESUPPORTADD I can import just one block and create a pipesupport in the active drawing. I have to add everytime the properties to the support.
For custom made pipesupports I want to use a pipespec (toolpalette). With the command PLANTPARTCONVERT I can add the customparts to the support catalog and create a supportspec.
Thank you for Reply
Hallo Scott,
thank you for your answer, it's great to read your blog. Still I think it should not be that difficult to add custom supports to Plant3D.
Next week I get some support from my Autodesk supplier and I hope to find together a good (and easy) solution.
When the results are good, I'll post them on the Autodesk forum. As work around I use now the command PLANTPIPESUPPORTCONVERT.
I import a support and add it to the pipeline. After fill in the properties I can copy the support for other pipelines. It's not the perfect way, butt it's workable for the moment. I have to do this for every type off support I need in the drawing.
Where can I find a list of all of the available commands that are in P&ID and P3D, such as "PLANTPIPESUPPORTADD"?
thanks
