Changing the annotation of valves

I am new to Auto Plant for PID. I cannot find how can I change the number of letters of valves. For ex. It seems its set for 2 letters like BV for Butterfly valves, but I need to change it to BFV.

Dear @Anonymous ,

Here you can enter your value "BFV" (1)

Dear @Anonymous ,

after the change in the Plant Configuration please update your project with "PLANTREFRESHACQPROPERTY"
Your changes will be applied to the existing symbols and labels.

For the valve type to accept 3 letters do the following

Apparently, it is changing all the valves type tag and all getting 3 characters! which I don't want that...

@Anonymous ,

If you just want the format for just the butterfly valves you will need to create a new Tagformat

Under the Hand Valve tree select butterfly valve

Go to THE Tag Format select New

Give the tagformat a new name.

Change your tag type length as we did in the above post.

butterfly-valve-type-3letters.JPG

Once you have created your new format under the Butterfly Properties scroll down the TagFormatName and select the new tag format you created

butterfly-valve-new tag-format.JPG

If you don't want the 3 characters for the other valves go back to the Hand Valve Tag(Code-Number) and change it back to 2.

Hope this helps. Others may have a better options.

Thank you so much. And do you what can I do if want to remove the valve size or change the position of valve tag and size (size # comes down of the valve instead of top)?

I tried to make a new Tag Format. It seems sometimes it works but sometime just brings the ?? instead of the tag name.

Also I cannot change the Field anymore (it is saved by aaa). I don't know why!

@Anonymous ,

Thanks a lot. Do you have any idea how can exchange the position of valve size and tag number?

@Anonymous ,

I think this is what you are asking us.

Out of box tag format

valvetag ootb.JPG

You like it to read this way????

valvetag changed.JPG

If you the like all valves tags to read with the Tag Number on top of valve and size under the valve

Do as follows.

valve tag.JPG

Block Editor will open and you will see the block attributes

(Out of box tag position)

valve tag block ootb.JPG

Swap the positions of these two attributes

valve tag block changed.JPG

Close Block editor and Save block

Hope this helps

Hello all!
I'm facing some issues with adjusting the valve tag format on a rolling collaboration project following all the steps above. Actually, all I need is to have AAA-NNN instead of the default AA-NNN. But even if I see all the settings to be OK in the project setup, they have no effect on the model.

I was woondering if i can remove that code HA for example on a ball valve. We use our own tags for project scecific.
