Can I save model changes from 2018 model, using Plant3D 2020?

SI understand that versions 2018-2020 are upwards and backwards compatible with each other, meaning that I should be able to open a 2018 project without issue. Understand that there.

However, if I save the file using 2020, will this upgrade the file format in anyway? Or is this action only done when using the migration wizard. As long as that option is not selected, should I be able to open, edit, and save changes on 2018 model using Plant3D 2020 without the data being altered?

The DWG format has not been changed since the AutoCAD 2018 version. This enables AutoCAD Plant 3D 2018-2022 to be edited without migration.
