Adding nozzles to Horizontal Centrifugal pump

Hi Folks,

Is it possible to add extra nozzles to standard horizontal centrifugal pump equipment ?  For example Pump casing drain, vent etc......I don't want to be creating a special equipment just for this......we all know that pumps come with more nozzles than Suction & Discharge, so I'm hoping it's a simple thing that I'm missing...…..other CAD platforms allow additional nozzles to be added easily.....so if it's not as simple as that, could Autodesk add this as a fix ?

Cheers

Dear @Anonymous ,

we will not provide any additional connections for parametric pumps!
This is only possible with user-defined and block-based pumps.

Create the pump parametrically, explode it, convert it back to a plant3d equipment, now you can add additional nozzles.  You do lose the parametric properties of the pump, but it does work.

Cheers George, seems like this is the best way to get around Autodesk not allowing additional nozzles to be added

Hi Hartmut,

A bit poor that from Autodesk really.  Additional nozzles can be added to other parametric equipment like exchangers and vessels, pumps should be the same.

Yep.  We all know that no CAD problem is going to stop a deadline, work has to get done.

Yep, bang on the button there George......however faffing about to make things work shouldn't be a requirement, and affects estimates/schedule/quality/efficiency
