Is this service going to be available (extended) for the 2020-2021 school year?

Hi @sadowskij2 ,

Starting at the beginning of July, Autodesk offered the Web App Program so anyone can access all of the tools and commands of the AutoCAD web app for free for an extended period. In addition, the AutoCAD team has recently launched education license access for the AutoCAD web app. If you have an Autodesk Education account, and have downloaded or installed the desktop version of AutoCAD, you should get full education access to the AutoCAD web app as well. Here are some helpful links:

Web App Program: https://blogs.autodesk.com/autocad/free-access-to-autocad-web-app/

Remote Learning: https://www.autodesk.com/education/covid-19/resource-center

Thanks,
Kerry

Kerry,

Thanks for your reply. So if I'm understanding this correctly:. Students
must first be able to download the desktop version of AutoCAD on a computer
(laptop or desktop), then they will be able to use the Web app on say a
Chromebook?

Thanks!

Hi @sadowskij2 ,

With your signed in education account, if you go to the "Get Products" page, select AutoCAD, and then click install or download, you will then be able to access the AutoCAD web app. One way to double check if you have access is to go to manage.autodesk.com, then in the left navigation bar click "All Products and Services" -- you should see AutoCAD in that list (it might take a few moments for it to update). I hope that helps!

Thanks,

Kerry

Kerry,

I am running into an issue while trying to open a file off of the AutoCAD Web App.  A dialog box opens and states:  Files are taking longer than usual to load.   If the file is particularly large, or if your internet......etc.  It has worked on a Chromebook (once) but I can't get it to work on desktops either at home or in a school lab.  All are using chrome and are updated.

Thanks,

John

Hi John,

Thanks for letting me know about the issue that you're having. I'll pass this information along to the AutoCAD team. To clarify -- are you using a Chromebook or Windows PC at home and in the school lab?

Thanks,

Kerry

No, I use a desktop at school and at home but most of the students will
need to use a chromebook.

Thank you!

Hi John,

The AutoCAD team released an update. Do you mind trying the drawing again? Please let me know if it works for you now.

Thanks,
