Invalid input

A couple of days ago AutoCAD Web stopped letting me enter relative coordinates. If I enter '@10,10' for example, as a second point, AutoCAD web responds with 'Invalid input'.

Any idea what's changed? Is there a variable or setting I need to adjust?

I have noticed that too when I tried it today. I could not get it to respond to any typed x,y input.

Autodesk has replied separately to me, and acknowledged that this is a bug. The development team are looking into it...

...CORRECTION: A guy at Autodesk has acknowledged the behaviour and is 'investigating it with the Development Team'.

There's also an issue with point filters:

As a work-around, it is possible to click in the command line and enter the coordinates or point filter, but to do that you have to move the cursor from where you're working down to the command line, click, make the entry and then move the cursor back to where you were working... 😐

It's looking very much like this has been fixed now. Is there any Autodesk person around here who could confirm that it *has* been "fixed"? It'd just be nice to have clarification on that, as I don't want to a berk that's not aware of some random setting I've accidentally toggled. I just checked again and it's NOT fixed. 'Rectangle @10,10', gives an Invalid Input, as does '.x' and other point filters. I wonder why it appeared to be working a couple of days ago?

...ah!! I've worked out that if I draw something new, i.e. using LINE, RECTANG, CIRCLE etc., I get the Invalid Input errors. BUT if I'm editing an existing entity, using MOVE, STRETCH etc., the 'at symbol' and point filters work.

Last posting for a while I think. I went back and rechecked this in comparison to AutoCAD. The behaviour is exactly as I expected:

  1. In AutoCAD, with DYNMODE set to 3, I can type l (for line) pick a point and then enter @10,10. AutoCAD draws a line.
  2. In AutoCAD Web, I do exactly the same and I get the ‘Invalid input’ response. Okay, I could click in the command line each time I want to use relative coordinates or point filters, but that means I have to move the cursor, click and then move the cursor back to where it was, which is all extra work.

My question to Autodesk Customer Support was "Why not just let AutoCAD Web function like AutoCAD and accept the relative coordinates and point filters in the dynamic input box?".

The reply was "I understand your point of view and that it can be frustrating to select the command line in order to be able to input relative coordinates, but as of now there is no other option to do it. The development team is aware of this and whatever or when or in what form they will implement an improvement to it I cannot tell you."

They told me it's a "work in progress" at AU2022 last year 🙂
