New User Confusion - Autocad360

Hi - I'm trying to generate a .dxf file for a CNC machine. I need to create the layout from scratch. I downloaded the free 30 day trial of autocad 360 which is described as having all the features of the full product - I'm on a Windows 10 PC by the way.

Let me describe my problem has wanting to put a rectangle inside a rectangle inside a rectangle (e.g. a cut out on a part that is on a full sheet of MDF).

The GUI doesn't look like some of the GUI's in many of the help files you have online - there are no tool bars, etc. Can't find a zoom tool. Can't find the origin or the registration point of the objects or the positions of the registration point. I can't place objects relative to origin. I can move objects but can't really tell where they are relative to one another. I can't change the dimensions of objects after they are created.

For example.

(1) My part needs to be 3/8" of an inch from the boarder of the panel. I can make the panel the correct size. I can make the part the correct size (after turning on engineering inches units). Can move the part, but I can't accurately position it (or at least I can't tell if it is accurately positioned).

(2) The cutout of my part is small. If I create a rectangle and put it inside the rectanglular part (inside the rectangular panel) - I can't even get it selected because it keeps grabbing one of the outer rectangles - i.e. since I can't figure out how to zoom, I can't get the cursor on the cutout.

Do I have the wrong product to do this kind of stuff? Is there something that 'enables' the GUI to show the tool bars I can't see?

You need to be using one of these apps only, not a webbrowser:

How to use the program:

AutoCAD360 has no DXF creation ability.

I'm now using Fusion 360 and things are good.

Closing this out for cleanup.
