Single line pipe - break line

I'm trying to adjust the break distance when (2) single line pipes are crossing each other. The default setting shows up alright in model space, but once I plot the drawings, you can't even tell there is a break. I've spent a couple hours looking through the system definitions, display properties, etc. to no avail.

Does anyone know if you can adjust this distance? I know how to adjust it with wire, but haven't found away to adjust it for pipe.

Any help is appreciated, thanks.

I attached a pic of what I'm describing.

Options > MEP Display Control

Then you can select the offset of a line break. This goes for all parts (pipe, duct, etc.) and can be annotative if desired.
