MEP valve schedule customizing

I'm attempting to create a very simple valve schedule.  All I really need is quantity, size, fitting, and type.

First thing I did; added quantity as a column.  That worked.

Second; added a column for type.  That did not work.  Have not got past this step.

For some reason the valve types are all coming up as GLOBE and there are no sizes listed for the objects I selected.

Please see the attached file.  What step am I missing?

Hi @Anonymous,

I am a bit unsure what you want the Type column to have listed, or what sizing you want in the table but I added a Screencast, hopefully clarifying a few things for you. I hope this helps!

I'm still confused about the purpose of the mechanical valve schedule tool.  In reference to my earlier issue, should I be doing it differently?  Creating a Bill of Materials, or "schedule", is essential for designing piping and valving.  My clients like to know a rough estimate of all valves used in a project.  I was hoping that the "Valve" schedule tool would accomplish that feat.  However, I can't get it to work on my template test page, so I'm hesitant to create a whole project and expect it to work.

Since I am building the template that will be used in future projects, I don't mind building my own schedule with the helpful information provided as a solution.  But, should I be?  Why doesn't the default schedule differentiated between valve types used on the file?
