Exporting AutoCAD MEP to REVIT issues

Hello everyone, I am having some issues bringing 3d Models from AutoCAD MEP to REVIT.

My client works in AutoCAD MEP for their equipment and piping designs and I am trying to bring them into REVIT and ultimately create an ENSCAPE VR presentation for their project.

Here is the history of my solutions so far.

When I import the dwg from MEP, I get this error message:

Error Message.PNG

When I set PROXYGRAPHICS to 1 I get this:

ProxyGraphics set to 1.PNG

The piping does not populate the model, though I get the valves and connectors

When I explode, I get this:ProxyGraphics set to 1 plus Explode.PNG

I get the pipes now, but the curved pipes and the connectors loose their solidity.

I HAVE tried to export from MEP to an IFC file, and that solves the problems for the geometry and I get this:

IFC import.PNG

It all comes in nicely, however, I cannot assign the materials to the objects.

I need to figure out how to get the materials on the model for the renderings and VR presentation.

Is there something I can do on the AutoCAD MEP or the REVIT side to resolve this issue?

Thank you, your help is appreciated.

Thanks,

Keith Prossick

hello, try to refer to this LINK and see if helps. thanks

instead of import use link cad for better manipulations of drawings.

Try to link the CAD file as opposed to importing... if that doesn't give you better results try exporting an IFC file from AutoCAD and then link the IFC file into your Revit model.

Get the exact same message.

When i try to save backward to a 2013 DWG I get this:

Backward Legacy Error Message.PNG

LINKING CAD gives me the same ACTIVE X Error Message.

I've done the LINK IFC and the geometry comes in, but then I run into issues assigning materials to the IFC in REVIT. Not sure how the materials are assigned with IFCs.
