MEP Pipe object used for 'Gripple'. Way to show Gripple size?

We use MEP Pipe Object type to model our Gripple. So I have created a Chapter in our Custom Pipe and Fittings catalog for Gripple.  I am wondering if there is any trick to get AutoCAD MEP to offer up the Gripple Size Number instead of, or in addition to the Nominal Size in such a way to allow the user of pick it by Gripple Size. (#1 Gripple, #2 Gripple, #3 Gripple, #4 Gripple, or #5 Gripple)

The need is worse because Trimble DD3d (3rd party) wants precision in 8ths so the sizes are shown as 0, 1/8", 1/8", 1/4" and 1/4".

Any Ideas?

In your catalog you can change the nominal size to be 1, 2, 3, 4, 5 instead of the 0.0469, 0.0781. 0.125. 0.1875, 0.25 that you have shown.  You won't be able to add any additional text but at least you will see the size numbers that you actually want to see.

"nominal size" ... do you mean Nominal Diameter ND1?

I did Nominal Diameter ND1 as you suggested, regenerated the Catalog, closed and reopened AutoCAD MEP.

Nominal Size still comes up as it did before... and if I try to add one I get an error.

When I opened the catalog the 1, 2, 3, 4, 5 that I added came back as real numbers in the catalog and  fractions in AutoCAD.

What did I miss?

That was scary. Had to get a backup of the catalog. But things are back.
